Dear Toastmasters Voting Members,
I am writing this letter of support for Nancy Movrin, for whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for over 20 years in the capacity as a colleague, employer, employee, and ultimately a friend. Regardless of our respective roles, Nancy always has an open mind and brings an innovative and creative approach to everything she does.
It has been a wonderful experience to work alongside Nancy where she has created, developed, and implemented new and innovative fitness programming during our time at the City of Cambridge. These unique programs were an out of the box design which not only lends to its success and longevity, but it provided the opportunity to expose the participants to multiple fields of fitness which ultimately resulted in an increase in membership.
As a Red Cross Instructor Trainer, Nancy has consistently provided a warm welcoming learning environment for fellow Red Cross Instructors to update their skills and knowledge. As a Red Cross Instructor, I have always searched out the instructor updates that Nancy was scheduled to deliver since her approach of clear, concise, and yet thorough communication coupled with gentle correction of skills was an environment where we could all learn and grow with each other. It was certainly an atmosphere created and fostered by Nancy. I looked forward to the updates with Nancy and this sentiment was shared by my fellow Red Cross Instructors.
Nancy is a natural mentor and coach. She has the innate ability to shine a light on your strengths and provides insight on how to grow and develop to a level that you didn’t even expect. She has a supportive nature and can provide alternative perspectives in a framework built on trust which creates new pathways for the mentee. Nancy can receive and deliver feedback in a caring manner which is not only an important skill to develop but one to model. Her reflective practice allows for insight on creating efficiencies and a learning tool for future endeavors.
Nancy is a consummate professional in all aspects of her life. Nancy’s commitment and attitude to adopting a lifelong learning lifestyle creates a well-rounded leader. There is no doubt that she will be very successful in any leadership role she chooses to pursue.
Kind regards,
Dr. Tara M.E. Hayes
