My Toastmaster path has interwoven with Nancy’s over many years. At Club events, Nancy is serving on a committee. At training session, Nancy is an instructor. At contests, she is on the organizing committee or at the minimum, serving as a judge. The fact is, when Nancy sees a job that needs to be done, she steps up. When a colleague needs help with an event or contest, Nancy asks, “What can I do?”

For these reasons, I was not surprised to see her name on the ballot for the District 86 Executive last year. To lose out by so few votes is difficult. For Nancy, it was a challenge to find another way to serve her fellow District 86 Toastmasters. I have not interacted with her a great deal in her capacity as Public Relations Manager, but just look at some of these other tributes to see how she has shone in that role.
